Pausing 'ship every week'
April 2026
I’m pausing ship every week for a bit. I don’t know how long for. I’m kicking off a couple of new ventures, and I’m also doing some work for Rootcause.
I’m still building new things every week that are useful to me. I’d love to share how I built my personal knowledge base, distill, which ingests all my personal communications and provides me with a morning briefing, a life coach, and a chief of staff.
I built a small plugin for Obsidian which hides the traffic lights in the top corner of the window on Mac (I’m a minimalist).
I built a private version of Netlify Drop.
I’ve created loads of tooling around my use of tmux for Claude Code orchestration (like the rest of the world).
The main problem is I don’t have time to write. This is something I’ve always battled with. To get proficient at writing, you need to be consistent. It’s a muscle; you need to practice.
I’ll never use AI to write for me. I value my voice too much. The only solution is to find the time.
But right now, there’s just so much to build. Maybe I’ll find a way to fit it in. I’ll still have the urge to craft my thoughts into something worth sharing. I’m not going to stop completely. For now I’ll keep building, and maybe the writing will find its space.
